All tourists need a visa to enter Bhutan, which is issued by the Department of Immigration. However, citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives can get a visa on arrival at the entry point. A visa fee of $40 is charged, depending on how long you stay. In addition to the visa, tourists must also pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). For international visitors, the SDF is $200 per day, and for Indian citizens, it is ₹1200 per day. These formalities can also be handled by local tour operators, who can help you with the entire process and make your travel easier.
